Open Access Day

Tuesday, 17 May 2022 | 12:00 – 14:00

Open Access publications are digital, free of charge and publicly accessible via the internet. They are easier to find, immediately usable and increase the visibility and reach of scientific results. This free and fast access to scientific information increases the efficiency of research and its subsequent use. Thus, Open Access also promotes international and interdisciplinary cooperation and networking among researchers.

On "Open Access Day 2022", we will offer you various information and advisory services on the topic of Open Access publishing and present our publication services.

  • How can I finance publication fees?
  • What do Creative Commons licences mean for my rights as an author?
  • What does OPUS Würzburg offer me for primary and secondary publications?
  • How does Würzburg University Press support me in publishing Open Access books?
  • How do I use an ORCID iD for the visibility of my research?
  • How do I recognise fraudulent journals?

You can learn more about these topics in two short lectures, in a virtual consultation hour and at personal consultation appointments. We cordially invite you to Open Access Day 2022!

In our Coffee Lectures, we provide brief and compact input on specific topics. In 20 minutes, you can find out everything you need to know about Open Access publishing! After our "snippets of knowledge", we are there to answer your questions.

Meet the Team: In the open, virtual consultation hour, the Open Access Team of the University Library introduces itself and informs about its services.

The Coffee Lectures (12:00 and 12:30) and the virtual consultation hour (13:00) take place online as Zoom meetings. Of course, participation is free of charge. Registration is not necessary - simply take part via Zoom!
