Graphic prints

Here you will find a large and impressive range of European printing art: woodcuts, copperplates, steel engraving and lithographies, most from the 17th to 19th centuries. You will also find modern graphics with links to the region and by artists from Lower Franconia. The Brod collection contains a variety of graphics, posters, maps and photographs depicting Franconia and Würzburg in particular.

How are our graphic prints indexed?

Some items have already been digitised and are available in the Pictothek any time, anywhere.

Search for a specific artist or image or start a free search and see what we have in store.

The Pictothek is still under construction but is constantly being updated. If your search is unsuccessful or you have questions about our graphics collection, please speak to the staff in the Manuscripts and Rare Books department.

How can I see the original graphic reproductions

You will need to submit a written application (PDF, 74 KB), with an academic reference and present your ID or passport.

For conservation reasons, you may not be allowed to see some originals. Please get in touch before your visit.
