Service hours 

As part of the Open Library concept, no on-site staff are present at the Branch Library Mathematics.
You will still receive the full range of services during regular service hours — via chat, by phone, or by email.

This branch library provides subject-specific literature in mathematics. The branch library also has a large collection of mathematical textbooks and literature on the didactics of computer science.

All holdings are fully indexed in the online catalogue. 

Materials from this branch are identifiable by their shelfmark prefix “700/”. 

Exhibitions

The exhibitions in the branch library can be visited during opening hours. The duration of stay in the branch library is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes.

Current exhibition: Johann Christian Lotter (1856-1936). An inventive Franconian manufacturer of drawing instruments. Impressive compasses sets made by Johann Christian Lotter from Neustadt a. d. Loan services 

  • The items held in the branch library can be borrowed as usual. Please collect the needed items yourself. We book them at the service desk.
  • The loan periods correspond to those of the Main Library.
  • Renewals can be carried out independently through your user account.
  • Detailed information on the lending services.

Items marked with a red location code (e.g. journals) are not available for loan. 

A valid library card or student ID for the current semester is required to borrow materials. 

 

Returning borrowed items 

Items borrowed from this branch can be returned via the self-service terminals on-site or at the return terminals of the Main Library. 

The two return terminals located outside the Main Library building (approx. 50 m to the right of the main entrance, in the direction of the refectory) are available outside of opening hours.

Study spaces 

109 study spaces are available on two floors, with access to power outlets.
One adjustable-height desk and one computer workstation with internet access.

Group study rooms 

There is no group study room here but there is a room in the same building (No. 00.105) that can be used by mathematics students.

Facilities 

Wi-Fi available throughout the library and a multifunctional copier.

Lockers 

You may bring bags and jackets, your work materials, your notebook and your muted smartphone into the library.
Day-use lockers are available near the entrance. You will need a €2 deposit coin and remember to empty it in the evening.

Food and drinks 

Eating is not permitted in this branch library.
Non-alcoholic beverages are allowed at your desk if they are in leak-proof, sealable containers. Please do not transfer drinks into open cups or similar containers.
