With the Open Library model, the Würzburg University Library is modernizing its locations step by step. The Open Library enables you to use library spaces even when no staff are on site.

Enjoy extended study hours while continuing to benefit from excellent service:
Our library team remains available during regular service hours — via chat, phone, or email.

All Open Library locations are accessible to all registered users of the Würzburg University Library.

 

Open Library Locations

The following branch libraries already offer extended opening hours as part of the Open Library:

  • Branch Library Chemistry and Pharmacy
    Mon–Fri 08:00–20:00
  • Branch Library Mathematics
    Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00
  • Branch Library Physics, Astronomy, Computer Science, and Media
    Mon–Fri 08:00–20:00
  • Branch Library Psychology
    Mon–Fri 09:00–22:00
    (from 16:00 onwards, access is restricted to activated library cards, student IDs, or JMU Cards)
  • Branch Library ZOM|ZIM
    Mon–Sun 08:00–22:00

 

Data Protection Information

To prevent theft and damage, the Open Library areas are monitored by video surveillance. Recordings are stored for 72 hours in accordance with legal requirements.
