The library card as a chip card

All library users who already had a chip card for the University Library can now check out their media themselves at several lending and return machines, so they no longer have to queue at the counters of the circulation desk.

So that you as a library user from the city and region can also benefit from this new service, our new chip card IDs are now available to you for a deposit of €7.

You can exchange your old library card at the circulation desk during our service hours. Please note that the deposit for the new library card must be paid in cash.

You can still use your old library card until the end of the year, but you will still have to come to the counter to borrow items.
By the way, you no longer need an additional copy card with the new library card: you can pay at our multifunctional copiers with your chip card.
