Departmental Library for Theology

In the departmental library, you will find specialist literature on Catholic Theology studies.

The shelf marks of these items start with "200/“ and "201/*".

Against the background of the spread of the coronavirus, the University Library of Würzburg has implemented the specification of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art. This measure is intended to protect users and staff and to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. We ask for your understanding for these measures in view of the current exceptional situation.

Services of the departmental library during the Corona Pandemic

Borrowing in the departmental library possible from 23.4.2020 - reservation required

Until further notice, the departmental library must remain closed to the public. However, members of the university and students who are writing their term papers and theses can borrow books from 23 April onwards.

The desired books must be ordered in advance by e-mail. We will inform you by e-mail whether (if borrowed) and when you can pick them up.

When ordering, please give your UB user number (it starts with 079... and is printed on your student card or JMU-Card) as well as author, title and shelf mark of the books you want to borrow (starting with 200/... or 201/...). Please also tell us your desired date for the collection (at the earliest on the next working day between 10:00 and 14:00).

For the time of collection and return, the main entrance of the building is open between 10:00 and 14:00. The door to the departmental library is open for book collection and return. The collection and return of ordered books takes place directly in the entrance area of the library, so that you can easily see whether the issue area is currently free or occupied.

In order to speed up the book issue, loan slips are provided in the books. The loan slips must be filled out and signed and placed in the box provided for this purpose. The loan period is 14 days.

There is also a cart for returning books in the entrance area of the library. Please return only books that you have borrowed from the departmental library. Books from the Main Library must be returned there. The book return flap of the Main Library is open around the clock.

Please send your book orders to: tb-theol@bibliothek.uni-wuerzburg.de. Please indicate your user number, author, title and shelf mark for the desired books, the supervisor of your term paper or thesis and your desired date for pickup.

Note for lecturers:

The collection of books ordered by lecturers with the call number 201/... and return them in the group study room of the library on the 1st floor.
