Oxford African American Studies Center

The University Library now offers online access to the Oxford African American Studies Center.

Oxford African American Studies Center (OAASC) provides online access to five core reference works in the field of African American history and culture:

- Africana: the encyclopedia of the African and African American experience (2005)
- Encyclopedia of African American History 1619-1895 (2006)
- Encyclopedia of African American History 1896 to the Present (2009)
- Black Women in America, Second Edition (2005)
- African American National Biography (2008)

In addition to the full-text of these works, the Center draws on other key resources from Oxford's reference program. More than 300 primary sources with specially written commentaries, numerous images, maps, charts & tables, timelines and film clips have been added to enhance this reference content.

OAASC can be accessed within the University Network or via off-campus access.
